Exposed to a Burn Pit?

We can help.

It has been estimated that nearly 3.5 million troops from recent wars may have suffered enough exposure to smoke to cause health problems.

Only recently, the VA began  awarding presumptive benefits status to post-9/11 veterans who have contracted certain conditions; Rhinitis, sinusitis and asthma.  Veterans will get a presumption that these conditions are connected to service only if the conditions manifest within 10 years of active service.  However if the conditions do not manifest on that time frame we can still work with any affected veteran to pursue their claim with supportive evidence that connects the conditions to service and burn pit exposure.

Areas and time periods covered include the Southwest Asia theater of operations (Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and more) from August 1990 to the present and Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Syria or Djibouti from Sept. 19, 2001 to the present.

These are significant concessions from the VA after years of lobbying and advocacy by many on behalf of veterans. We believe there are many other conditions other than rhinitis, sinusitis and asthma that should be presumptively connected to burn bit exposure and we will keep fighting to obtain that objective.  If you have one of these diagnosis and were exposed to burn pits please reach out.  Also, please know that if you are sick, were exposed to burn pits and think your illness is connected to that exposure we will work with you and your doctors to see how we may be able to advocate on your behalf for veterans benefits.
