THE PACT ACT

and your VA benefits

The PACT Act is the most significant expansion of Veteran benefits and care in more than three decades, expanding the rights of millions of toxic exposed veterans and their survivors to receive VA Disability benefits. The PACT Act expands VA health care and benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances. Since President Biden signed the PACT Act into law Aug. 10, more than 213,000 PACT Act-related claims for benefits have been submitted. The PACT Act adds to the list of health conditions that we assume (or “presume”) are caused by exposure to these substances. This law helps us provide generations of Veterans—and their survivors—with the care and benefits they have earned.

The Latest: New Camp Lejeune Cancer Exposure Findings

New research from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that additional cancers and other conditions could be linked to exposure to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Based on the findings, those who served and worked at the base had at least 20 percent greater risk of developing certain types of cancer than military personnel stationed at a similar military base during the same time period.
