A recent Pennsylvania accident ended seriously for one woman who now remains hospitalized in Pittsburgh. Police believe that the woman was traveling on Route 380 in Washington Township when another vehicle pulled out in front of her. The car accident resulted in serious damage to the woman’s vehicle, and she sustained serious injuries in the collision.

According to police, the 47-year-old woman had to be extricated from the vehicle, which was rendered unrecognizable in news photographs. She was trapped for nearly a half hour while authorities worked through the wreckage, eventually cutting the entire roof off her vehicle. Reports immediately following the accident did not detail the exact nature or extent of her injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, an 84-year-old man, sustained minor injuries to his arm. He was treated and released from another hospital following the accident. Police have not given any indication of whether charges will be filed.
