It is easy to forget just how quickly a family’s life can be forever altered. When a serious car crash takes place, lives can be changed in an instant. One Pennsylvania family is currently experiencing this reality in the wake of a tragic fatal accident.
The crash is believed to have taken place just after noon on a recent Monday. Two elderly men, one 92 years of age and the other 76 years old, were riding in a vehicle driven by a relative when their vehicle collided head-on with a pickup truck. The two men, who were cousins, were both killed during the crash.
Their vehicle was driven by a 40-year-old female relative, who is the granddaughter of one of the men and the niece of the other. She was reportedly in fair condition following the incident. They were on the way to a doctor’s appointment at the time of the crash.
The driver of the other vehicle sustained serious injuries in the collision. There is no information available on that individual’s identity or current medical condition. Pennsylvania authorities are continuing to investigate the matter.
Should the Pennsylvania investigation reveal which party was at fault in this fatal accident, the surviving victims and family members of the deceased will have important decisions to make. Personal injury suits are possible for the victims who survived the crash but sustained injuries. In addition, if the driver of the pickup truck was at fault in the wreck, the family of the deceased could elect to pursue a wrongful death action. The coming weeks will be very difficult for all involved, as they struggle to come to terms with their injuries and the loss of loved ones.
